Spencer Technologies provides solutions and support to retailers. The company was established in 1972 and boasts 225 employees and 135 technicians in five locations.

Spencer has a Certified Partners Program to recruit technicians but routes a lot of work through web-based service platforms such as OnForce.

  1. Owner/Lead Installer
    Spencers has been great for me. They are one of two clients who keep me very busy. When it seems work starts to slow down Spencers has come to the rescue and given me work when I needed it most. I have done about 50 jobs for them and have had to decline more than that because I was already booked.

  2. Too much work, too little people
    Spencer has work out there, just not enough support personnel to make it worth while. Slow pay, slow to react to changes. You can get some good conditionals out of them, if tech pickings are slim. Done some AutoZone phone work for them at $100/hr, including drive time.

  3. Still owe me Money
    I did a job for them through Teksource or someone. Never got paid. They had the nerve to try to get me to do a job for them through someone else.
    Right down there in the gutter with Barristers.

  4. Waste of time
    if you dont mind waiting 60 days plus to get paid and dont mind AP crying about their fianancial woas, go for it.
    They have burned alot of bridges and find it very hard to get people to work direct for them. They have resorted to using other platforms to get the man power they need.
