ELVA-1 Announces Successful Installation of Two PPC-1000 Gigabit Radio Links in Europe

ELVA-1 Millimeter Wave Division has begun offering its new PPC-1000 series of Gigabit Ethernet mm-wave links for sale in Europe. This wireless link provides a 1,250 Mbps full-duplex wireless Ethernet data pipeline that is equivalent in capacity to 512 E1 lines or 2 Е5 lines in PDH. The result is terrestrial fiber equivalent performance, reliability and security, but without the high deployment costs associated with outdoor fiber installation.

St. Petersburg, Russia (PRWEB) November 17, 2007 — ELVA-1 has installed two 71-76 GHz and 81-86 GHz frequency band PPC-1000 Gigabit radiolinks in Hungary. Giganet Ltd. and Naracom Ltd., both Internet service providers, are using Gigabit radiolinks to connect distribution centers to their national fiber optic center.

The PPC-1000 is a full-duplex Gigabit point-to-point link especially designed according to ECC and FCC requirements. It provides interconnection between remote LAN segments at ultra high speed of 1.25 Gbps and utilizes Gigabit Ethernet protocols, which is the evolving standard for switches and routers available from a variety of telecommunication equipment manufacturers. The operating frequencies include 40.5-43.5GHz, 71-76 & 81-86 GHz, and 92-95 GHz. ELVA-1's PPC-1000 links provide an effective alternative solution for European Countries to connect their remote regions wirelessly. With a cost that is far below the average cost of outdoor fiber installation and service in urban areas, wireless mm-wave links are much more cost-effective. In addition, PPC-1000 links give nothing away to terrestrial fiber in speed and reliability of deployment, providing both big cities and small towns and villages with broadband internet access.

For different regions, Gigabit wireless Ethernet links` operating availability attains 99, 99% at 7.5 miles or 12.0 km distance, depending on the link frequency and rain intensity. The advantage of millimeter waves is that they allow more densely packed communications links, thus providing very efficient spectrum utilization, and they can increase security of communication transmissions. Such types of radio-links are equipped with SNMP management function, which allows the remote control of PPC-1000 links sent from a central location.

Recent European regulations CEPT channel plan (ECC Recommendation(05)07) for 71-76GHz and 81-86GHz frequency bands radios opens EU wireless fronthaul, backhaul and network extension markets for point-to-point fixed wireless systems (FWS). The licensing process in different EU states is not unified yet, but inclines to light licensed basis, using a registration system with an interference protection date to establish priority in the band and e-enabled link registration process and almost free of charge License fees – like in UK(50 per link).

Radio-links are supplied with antennas of 30, 45, 60 or 90 cm diameter. Antenna's diameter determines operating range of radio-link within its frequency band limits.

Sun will also announce that key industry partners are supporting the company's goal to deliver the industry's first, interoperable, virtualization and management platform built on open source technologies. AMD, Intel, MySQL, Quest Software, Red Hat and Symantec are a few of the many hardware, software, operating system and management companies endorsing Sun's vision for the future of virtualization.

Sun supports Red Hat's Linux Automation strategy and Red Hat supports Sun's xVM strategy, both of which extend the reach and value of open source. Red Hat and Sun will ensure customers mutual certification and customer support across our virtualization offerings. In addition, Sun and Red Hat are committed to working together to foster libvirt (www.libvirt.org), an open source community for cross-platform virtualization management, to enable Sun, Red Hat and 3rd party management tools to seamlessly interoperate across each company's virtualization platforms.

Sun xVM Family of Products

Sun's end-to-end approach to datacenter virtualization – spanning desktops to servers to storage and the network – will let customers deploy new services faster, maximize system resources and more easily monitor and manage virtualized environments. As part of Sun's commitment to interoperability, Sun xVM will run on multi-vendor x86/64 and SPARC® processor-based systems from leading hardware vendors including Dell, Fujitsu, HP, IBM and Sun.

Sun xVM Ops Center and Sun xVM Server will be the first of the xVM family of products introduced to the market. Sun xVM Ops Center will deliver a unified management console that will help users to manage both the virtualized and physical components of their IT environment. Sun xVM Server, Sun's virtualization server, will include code derived from work of the Xen open source community. Sun xVM Server will help extend the benefits of technologies like Predictive Self-Healing software and ZFS to Windows and Linux guest operating system instances, previously only available to Solaris OS users.

FieldMart is a national service company focusing on POS and CCTV field services. Clients sign up for contract management services and the company outsources the work to contractors on their system, called members. FieldMart is not an auction style system. The company offers work orders to a select list of members based on their profle and the job is first come, first served only from the chosen list.

Members can join as sole contractors or business contractors. Members who have employees add them to the member list but can dispatch to those employees without providing information about rates. Membership is FREE and there are no fees charged on work performed.
