I had the same payment issues as most have with these guys. I use a little trick known as the contractors lien. In my county it cost $15 bucks to file. Once that hits the desks of Mr Stine and the contingent workforce. I assure you, checks will get cut. Go ahead and try it for yourselves. I mostly dont even really file, I just run it up the ladder that liens are going out. Pretty cool ace up the sleeve if you ever need. Good luck.

Only work with Contingent if you like being treated as a lowly W2. They usually have no idea what is going on with the work they are dispatching. They also pay VERY slowly. Although you can get paid quicker if you agree to a huge pay cut to be in their Speedpay program.

  3. The beat down
If you enjoy being personally berated and beat down by certain project managers then this is the company for you. Dont expect proper compensation for materials and dont expect them to pay you on time if at all.

  4. Do not work for this company
Do a quick search about this company you will find some pretty bad things about them. Average turn around for this company to pay invoices was 6-9 months. It took constant emails and phone calls to get paid. If it wasn’t for a forum where I found similar stories that listed a number of email addresses I doubt I would have gotten paid. They have bigger jobs but don’t be fooled by that; run away as fast as you can.

  5. Still outstanding invoices for 2007
If you have done work for this company then you are probably saying the same thing. They are the only company in the last 4 yrs that didn’t pay some invoices. The ones they did pay I have to go there and get it. I also worked with another contractor in Iowa that had the same experience. 😥 🙁
