Motorola Prototypes exhibition at Digital Experience shows a prototype of the Motorola HS1001 DECT 6.1 phone with wifi. DECT technology removes interference and has over 400 ft range. With the Android OS in the phone, you have full net access from your home phone. This can provide a lot less expensive alternative to a tablet in a cordless phone package.
Ninety percent of the content people consume is in black and white. Fujitsu demos full color electronic paper - the advantages of e-Ink for battery life by running in black and white most of the time, then changing to color when required. This demo highlighted a technology available only in Japan. The high color mode can be turned on when needed. Cholesteric liquid crystal technology is employed in the process.
