New Thin Client Provides Improved Security, Lower Power Usage and Better Reliability, for a Low Entry Price

Las Vegas NV (PRWEB) May 4, 2009 - IGEL Technology today launched its low entry thin client, the IGEL one, which costs $186. The IGEL one is designed for user environments with up to 250 users, such as single campus schools and colleges, manufacturing production lines and small to medium-sized businesses, where sophisticated management software is not required.

"The IGEL one is a simple and cost effective desktop solution that provides all the thin client benefits of improved security, lower power usage and better reliability, for a low entry price," said Erhard Behnke, US president at IGEL Technology Ltd. "As businesses look to cut their computing costs in these difficult economic times, the IGEL one is the perfect device for businesses that do not require a fully managed desktop."

Customers can choose from one of five different protocols for the IGEL one that best meets their needs. The supported Server-Based Computing solutions include: Citrix XenApp, Microsoft Terminal Services, Ericom PowerTerm Webconnect, Cendio ThinLinc and NoMachine NX. Once the preferred solution has been chosen the customer is automatically locked into it upon first boot.

The IGEL one is extremely efficient and ideal for businesses looking to deploy terminals for centralized application delivery such as office-based applications. The IGEL one also has a VNC client onboard, enabling businesses to provide centralized remote IT support from a helpdesk.
