MercenaryRoadie:
Someone over at the OnForce Forum posted this link to a HIPPA certification.

I was under the impression that there was no recognized HIPPA certification.

Am I correct on this?

"No travel or expensive books needed and completed in less than an hour!"

Either an outright scam, or their giving you a cert for something that does not need a cert.

Don Ridings:
I have a hipaa cert...

Todd Hughes:
There is no official "HIPAA Certified" certification in the respect that an individual is "certified to determine a client's compliance with the HIPAA mandates". The closest thing is the HITRUST framework; they are working on developing a certification that individuals can obtain that would be recognized throughout the industry (but they're not there yet).

"HIPAA Certified" generally means that a business has been found to comply with the regulations set forth by the HIPAA guidelines.

Todd Hughes:
All of these other "HIPAA certification" deals are simply scams which will cost you money to obtain a silly paper "certificate" that says you have obtained the same HIPAA Awareness Training that you can easily gain by reading the guideline itself.

Perhaps I should start offering HIPAA Certification" via some type of on-line training?  >:D
