How NOT to do a web site.
bfarmer:
I was on Facebook and saw an ad for an alarm clock that has wheels and you have to chase it down to shut it off.
Now normally I would never click on an ad on Facebook, but this one caught my eye, just as it was intended to do. So the ad did it's job.
It took me to this web site http://fab.com/sale/5682/?fref=ad-54431641&nan_pid=54431641&frefl=Facebook%20Ad&nan_pid=54431641. Why the owners of this web site thought it would be a good idea to force you to sign up to even see the site is beyond me. So I saw an ad that got my interest, went to the site and saw that I had to sign up and closed the window and went on with my day. Blows their click through rate right out of the water.

Weird. Mac with FF or Safari I get a sign up window on top of the page with no way to close it.
